Disassociation in the Dark is a model study from a distance in a traditional portrait setting. I love the feeling of separation between viewer and the model. We often wonder if we're being seen and heard, or if we're just floating around in a dark room searching for breaks of light. 

The painting was made using a dry brush watercolor technique on a toothy pastel paper. This choice of medium creates a truly dramatic effect of the light that falls on the surface of the paper. The surface luminosity of the original work is ethereal and full of vibes.
